Stuart Fairchild sitting Friday for Cincinnati
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Stuart Fairchild is not in the starting lineup for Friday afternoon's series opener against right-hander Adrian Sampson and the Chicago Cubs.
Fairchild is out of the lineup for the second time in three contests after going 0-for-9 with a strikeout in the Reds' series versus the Pittsburgh Pirates. Mike Siani (head) will replace Fairchild in center field and hit seventh in his return to the starting nine.
Siani has a $4,000 salary on Friday's single-game slate and numberFire’s models project him for the lowest output among hitters at 5.2 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Reds’ implied total (3.17) is tied for No. 22 in the majors today. Among Friday's projected starters, Sampson has the third-lowest strikeout rate this season (16.5%).
