John Lamb (thumb) to take mound next for Reds on Monday
Cincinnati Reds pitcher John Lamb (thumb) will next start on Monday against the Cleveland Indians.
After a Tuesday rainout, the Reds shuffled their rotation to allow Lamb a few more days to rest his bum digit. He was lifted from Sunday's outing against the Milwaukee Brewers with a sprained left thumb. The team is off on Thursday and will begin a weekend series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday, with Brandon Finnegan, Tim Adleman and Dan Straily scheduled to start in that order.
Lamb has pitched 10 innings this season (two starts) and owns a 1.80 ERA, although his 5.20 xFIP is significantly higher. He has just a 17.3 strikeout percentage. Our models currently project Lamb to post a 5.08 ERA and a 19.80 strikeout percentage over the remaining course of the season.
