Yan Gomes grabbing seat Thursday for Cubs
Chicago Cubs catcher Yan Gomes is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Ranger Suarez and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Willson Contreras will catch for Javier Assad and hit out of the leadoff spot while Gomes grabs a seat. Franmil Reyes will work as the Cubs' designated hitter and bat sixth.
Reyes has a $2,000 salary on Thursday and numberFire's models project him for 8.7 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs' implied total (3.15) is No. 15 in the majors today.
