San Diego Padres first baseman Josh Bell is not starting in Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Bell will take a break at home after Brandon Drury was announced as Wednesday's designated hitter, Wil Myers was shifted to first base, and Jurickson Profar was aligned in left field.
According to Baseball Savant on 445 batted balls this season, Bell has produced a 7.4% barrel rate and a .350 expected weighted on-base average.
