New York Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira is out Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals with neck spasms.
Dustin Ackley will start at first base and bat fifth for the Yankees versus Royals right-hander Kris Medlen. Teixeira is considered day-to-day.
