Mets' Travis D'Arnaud (shoulder) receives platelet-rich plasma injection
New York Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection on Monday.
D'Arnaud felt more discomfort after attempting to throw on Saturday. There's been no change in the diagnosis -- as Mets' doctors confirmed Monday he's dealing with a rotator cuff strain -- but the team has shut him down indefinitely in hopes the rest will get him back on track. Kevin Plawecki will be the Mets' regular catcher for the foreseeable future.
D'Arnaud had a slow start to the season, hitting .196/.288/.261 across 52 plate appearances with a .256 wOBA.
