Starling Marte (hand) sidelined for Mets' matinee Wednesday
New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (hand) is not in the starting lineup for Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against right-hander Duane Underwood Jr. and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Marte was hit by a pitch on his right hand during Tuesday's game against the Pirates. He reportedly avoided structural damage, but the Mets are still awaiting some test results, so Marte may wind up being held out of both ends of Wednesday's doubleheader. Tyler Naquin will replace Marte in right field and hit seventh in the first game, with Pete Alonso moving up two spots to hit second.
Naquin is numberFire's top point-per-dollar value for Wednesday's early single-game slate. He has a $4,500 salary and our models project him for 12.1 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Mets’ implied total in Game 1 (5.11) is currently fourth-highest in the majors today.
