Reds option Scott Schebler to Triple-A Louisville
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Scott Schebler has been optioned to Triple-A Louisville.
Schebler began the year in a left-field platoon, but Adam Duvall took over the full-time starting job about three weeks into the season. With Duvall getting most of the playing time, Reds' manager Bryan Price felt it would be better to have Schebler play every day in Triple-A than have him sit on the bench in Cincinnati.
Schebler has struggled offensively this year, hitting just .188 with a .252 wOBA, one homer and eight RBI's. For now, Tyler Holt will serve as the Reds' fourth outfielder.
