Royals' Mike Moustakas placed on DL with fractured thumb
The Kansas City Royals have placed third baseman Mike Moustakas on the 15-day disabled list with a left thumb fracture.
Moustakas missed Friday's game with what was called a bruised thumb, but x-rays confirmed that he is dealing with a fracture. Christian Colon is expected to see most of the work at third base while Moustakas is on the DL.
Moustakas had a wOBA of .363 before going down with injury, and he also has seven home runs on the young season through 97 at bats.
