Maikel Franco moving to Nationals' bench Monday
Washington Nationals infielder Maikel Franco is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Marcus Stroman and the Chicago Cubs.
Ildemaro Vargas will move to third base in place of Franco while C.J. Abrams starts at shortstop and hits seventh. The Nationals recalled Abrams from Triple-A Rochester on Monday and placed Luis Garcia (groin) on the 10-day injured list.
Abrams has a $2,000 salary on Monday and numberFire’s models project him for 7.8 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Nationals’ implied total (3.73) is No. 16 out of 26 active teams today.
