Carl Crawford

Carl Crawford activated, Brandon Beachy optioned

The Dodgers activated Carl Crawford from his rehab stint and optioned Brandon Beachy to Triple-A.

What It Means:

Crawford had been recovering from an oblique strain, and was hitting .353/.395/.618 in the minors with a homer, two triples, and a double in 34 at bats. He's only made fifty plate appearances this season, and hit .245 over that span. As for Beachy, he had a 7.88 ERA in two starts to go along with a 5.98 xFIP and 6.75 BB/9 (compared to a 5.63 K/9), so the move makes a lot of sense.
