Rangers send catcher Brett Nicholas to Triple-A
The Texas Rangers optioned catcher Brett Nicholas to Triple-A Round Rock.
Nicholas was sporting an impressive .876 OPS with four doubles and two home runs in 10 games for the Rangers. Texas will move forward with Bryan Holaday and the newly-acquired Bobby Wilson as its catching tandem.
Despite playing just 10 games this season, Nicholas has to be disappointed with the demotion. His .374 wOBA is ninth among catchers with at least 39 plate appearances, and his .286 ISO is tied for fourth.
