Jonah Bride on Oakland bench Wednesday
Oakland Athletics infielder Jonah Bride is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Touki Toussaint and the Los Angeles Angels.
The Athletics appear to be giving Bride a breather after he went 4-for-19 with two walks and four strikeouts over the last five games. Nick Allen will move to second base in place of Bride while Elvis Andrus starts at shortstop and hits sixth.
Andrus has a $2,400 salary on Wednesday and numberFire’s models project him for 8.5 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Athletics’ implied total (3.91) is No. 19 in the majors today. Among Wednesday's projected starters, Toussaint has the third-best strikeout rate this season (27.3%), although he's only thrown 8 1/3 innings through two starts.
