Chad Pinder sitting Wednesday afternoon for Athletics
Oakland Athletics outfielder Chad Pinder is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Touki Toussaint and the Los Angeles Angels.
What It Means:
Pinder was the Athletics' designated hitter on Tuesday and he went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk. Sean Murphy will shift to DH duty and cleanup work on Wednesday afternoon while Stephen Vogt starts at catcher and hits fifth. Tony Kemp will take care of left field again and bat leadoff for Oakland.
Murphy has a $3,000 salary on Wednesday and numberFire’s models project him for 11.4 FanDuel points. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Athletics’ implied total (3.91) is No. 19 in the majors today. Among Wednesday's projected starters, Toussaint has the third-best strikeout rate this season (27.3%), although he's only thrown 8 1/3 innings through two starts.
