San Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik (groin) added treadmill jogging and agility drills to his workout Tuesday.
It's a strong signal he's close to returning to the Giants' starting lineup, and Panik could even pinch-hit on Tuesday night. The second baseman has been out since last Friday because of a minor groin injury.
Panik is slashing .280/.340/.484 with 3 home runs and a .354 wOBA in 103 plate appearances this season. Our models currently project him to finish the season with a .339 wOBA, 10 home runs and 6 stolen bases across 487 plate appearances in 2016.
