Oakland Athletics infielder Vimael Machin is not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
Machin will move to the bench on Friday with Seth Brown starting at first base. Brown will bat fourth versus right-hander Lance Lynn and Chicago. Jonah Bride moves up to first in the order.
