Washington Nationals pitcher Stephen Strasburg gave up two runs over seven innings and struck out nine in a 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.
After giving up two early runs in the first inning, Strasburg retired 15 of the next 20 Cardinals batters. He is off to a nice start for Washington posting record of 4-0, and an ERA of 2.25 in his first five starts.
Strasburg's SIERA is 2.75 in his first five starts of 2016, and he is posting a strike out rate 29.2 percent so far this season. He has been especially dominant against left-handed hitters in 2016. The 63 lefties he has faced have a wOBA of just .192 off him.
