Taylor Jungmann

Brewers option Taylor Jungmann to minors

The Milwaukee Brewers optioned pitcher Taylor Jungmann to Triple-A Colorado Springs.

What It Means:

Jungmann pitched pretty well in 21 starts for the Brewers last season -- his first taste of big league action -- and started their third game of the season this year. However, he's put up a 9.15 ERA while fanning 13 and walking 13 in 20 2/3 innings through five outings this season, so it's not a surprise a change was made. The Brewers haven't announced who will take Jungmann's rotation spot.

An even strikeout to walk ratio and a 6.01 xFIP spelled disaster for Jungmann. Prior to the demotion, our models project he'd post a 4.39 ERA with a 20.2 strikeout percentage in 139 innings this season. We'll have to wait and see if Jungmann can get things figured out in the minors.
