Oneil Cruz omitted from Pirates' Game 1 lineup Thursday afternoon
Pittsburgh Pirates infielder Oneil Cruz is not in the starting lineup against left-hander Mike Minor and the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader.
The Pirates are giving Cruz a breather for the early leg of Thursday's twin bill. Diego Castillo is taking over at shortstop and hitting fifth.
numberFire’s models project Castillo for 9.6 FanDuel points on Thursday, and he has a $2,500 salary. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Pirates’ implied total (4.50) is tied for ninth in the majors on Thursday out of 24 teams.
