Jonathan Davis (back, ribs) out of Brewers' lineup Thursday

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Jonathan Davis (back, ribs) is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series opener against right-hander JT Brubaker and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

What It Means:

Davis exited Wednesday's game early due to low back/rib cage discomfort, but it's not clear whether he'll be available off the bench Thursday. Andrew McCutchen is shifting out to right field while Willy Adames takes over at designated hitter. Luis Urias is starting at shortstop and hitting sixth, with Kolten Wong on second base and batting fifth.

numberFire’s models project McCutchen for 9.8 FanDuel points on Thursday, and he has a $3,300 salary. Wong is projected for 10.0 FanDuel points with a $3,000 salary. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Brewers’ implied total (4.67) is fourth-highest out of 16 active teams Thursday.
