Kansas City Royals utility player Ryan O'Hearn is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against left-hander Martin Perez and the Texas Rangers.
O'Hearn is back on the bench after making a start on Sunday. MJ Melendez is replacing O'Hearn at designated hitter and batting sixth while Cam Gallagher enters the lineup to play catcher and hit ninth.
