The Mariners will send the Royals right-handed reliever Wyatt Mills and right-hander William Fleming in return for Santana, who should be able to help out the Mariners at first base with Ty France (elbow) sidelined.
Santana has made 212 plate appearances so far in his 13th season, and is batting .216 with a .690 OPS in those opportunities. He has posted 4 home runs, 17 runs, and 21 RBI as well.
