Nick Madrigal (groin) still sidelined for Cubs on Monday
Chicago Cubs second baseman Nick Madrigal (groin) is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against right-hander Yu Darvish and the San Diego Padres.
Madrigal is out of the order for a third consecutive game as he deals with groin tightness. He is considered day-to-day for now. Jonathan Villar is starting at second base again Monday and batting ninth.
numberFire’s models project Villar for 8.1 FanDuel points on Monday, and he has a $2,600 salary. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Cubs' implied total (4.29) is ninth out of the 20 active teams.
