Kevin Kiermaier kept off Rays' lineup against Rangers
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Taylor Hearn and the Texas Rangers.
What It Means:
The lefty-hitting Kiermaier is out of the lineup for the second time in three games because the Rangers are sending another southpaw to the hill. Randy Arozarena, Manuel Margot, and Brett Phillips are starting across the outfield for Tampa Bay. Mike Zunino is replacing Kiermaier in the lineup to start at catcher and hit seventh while Francisco Mejia shifts to designated hitter and bats fifth. Arozarena is in the leadoff spot in place of Kiermaier.
