Outfielder David Murphy has been released by the Minnesota Twins.
Murphy, who was playing for Triple-A Rochester, asked for and was granted his release by the club. The 34-year-old was useful as a part-time player last season, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him latch on elsewhere. He could also explore retirement.
Murphy was hitting .194 (7-for-36) with one home run, one double and three RBI's through 10 games with Triple-A Rochester.
