Andrelton Simmons sitting for Cubs Thursday afternoon
Chicago Cubs infielder Andrelton Simmons is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Hunter Greene and the Cincinnati Reds.
Simmons is sitting while Nico Hoerner takes over at shortstop and hits eighth. Hoerner will reportedly be the Cubs' primary shortstop moving forward while Simmons will share time on second base with Jonathan Villar and Christopher Morel.
numberFire’s models project Hoerner for 10.3 FanDuel points on Thursday, and he has a $2,400 salary on the All Day slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, Greene has the worst walk rate (12.3%) among Thursday's 22 listed starters.
