Oakland Athletics catcher Christian Bethancourt is not starting in Friday's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels.
Bethancourt will sit on Friday night after Oakland announced Sean Murphy would take over at catcher.
Per Baseball Savant on 45 batted balls this season, Bethancourt has produced a 13.3% barrel rate and a .302 expected average.
