Tampa Bay Rays second baseman Brandon Lowe is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against right-hander Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels.
Lowe is taking a breather after starting the past five contests for Tampa Bay. Vidal Brujan is shifting to second base while Brett Phillips enters the lineup to play right field and bat ninth.
Per numberFire's MLB Heat Map, the Rays have the second-lowest implied total (3.31) in the majors on Wednesday. Ohtani owns a 38.0% strikeout rate and a 4.6% walk rate this season.
