Red Sox plan to recall Roenis Elias before Friday's game
Boston Red Sox pitcher Roenis Elias will be recalled prior to Friday's game, Alex Speier of the Boston Globe reports.
What It Means:
Speier also confirms a previous report which says Henry Owens will come up on Sunday to start in place of the injured Joe Kelly (shoulder). Elias will provide length out of the bullpen after David Price's abbreviated start on Thursday.
Elias holds a 3.86 ERA over his first two starts at Triple-A Pawtucket to go with an 18.8 percent strikeout rate and ugly 14.6 walk rate over 9 1/3 innings pitched.
