The Oakland Athletics have scratched Jed Lowrie (lower back tightness) from their lineup for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins.
Lowrie is dealing with lower back tightness and will be available off the bench if needed today, but will no longer start. Chad Pinder will take over at designate hitter and Billy McKinney will step back into the lineup.
Lowrie is projected for 396 more plate appearances this season, with 11 home runs, 44 runs, 47 RBI, 1 stolen base and a .243 batting average.
