Oakland's Danny Valencia may be headed for disabled list

Oakland Athletics infielder Danny Valencia (hamstring) could require a stint on the disabled list.

What It Means:

While Valencia's injury isn't considered serious, Athletics' manager Bob Melvin acknowledged hamstrings often take more than a few days to heal. Beat writer Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle believes Oakland will call up Tyler Ladendorf from Triple-A Nashville if Valencia is placed on the disabled list.

With 55 appearances at the plate this season, Valencia has recorded a .294/.345/.353 slash and .313 wOBA.
