MRI shows no damage in Joe Kelly's shoulder
Boston Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly's MRI revealed no structural damage of his right shoulder.
Kelly has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a "right shoulder impingement." He appears to have dodged the structural bullet, though. There is no current timetable for his recovery. Prior to hitting the disabled list, he had struggled to a 9.35 ERA over three starts. Henry Owens, Roenis Elias, and Brian Johnson are all in the mix to replace Kelly while he is on the shelf.
Kelly has a 2.77 WHIP and 22.0 strikeout percentage across a total of 8 2/3 innings this season.
