Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez will miss at least the next 6-8 weeks, the team announced Sunday.
Jimenez was carted off the field during Saturday's game after suffering a hamstring injury. What was originally described as soreness has now officially been diagnosed as a right hamstring strain. The White Sox say that preliminary indications are he'll miss 6-8 weeks, so th team will have to figure out how to carry on without his services for a stretch of time.
In 39 plate appearances this season, Jimenez has a .222 batting average with a .590 OPS, 1 home run, 2 runs and 7 RBI.
