Angels' Andrew Heaney (forearm) has plateaued in recovery
Los Angeles Angels starting pitcher Andrew Heaney has "plateaued" in his recovery from a left flexor muscle strain, Angels' manager Mike Scioscia said Tuesday.
Heaney still feels something in his left forearm when he tries to throw hard. An MRI taken earlier this month showed no structural damage, but the Angels are probably going to run the young left-hander through another round of tests. There is no timetable for his return.
We originally projected Heaney to post a 17.9 percent strikeout rate and 3.72 ERA over 139 1/3 innings this season. In his one outing this year, he managed to toss six innings with seven strikeouts, though he did allow four runs.
