Colorado's Jordan Lyles carves up Cincinnati
Colorado Rockies pitcher Jordan Lyles spun an unexpected gem Monday, allowing just one unearned run over seven frames in a 5-1 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
Lyles yielded only four hits, walked one and struck out four. He threw just 76 pitches through his seven innings, but the Rockies elected to pinch-hit for him to lead off the eighth. Lyles' outing Monday was easily the best of his three so far this season as he lowered his ERA to 6.00.
For 2016, our models project Lyles to post a 16.7 strikeout percentage and 4.63 ERA, making him our No. 286 pitcher.
