Roberto Osuna out Monday for Jays with blister on middle finger

Toronto Blue Jays reliever Roberto Osuna was unavailable Monday against the Boston Red Sox due to a blister on his right middle finger.

What It Means:

The blister popped while Osuna was throwing a pitch Sunday which Travis Shaw turned around for a home run. Drew Storen served as the Blue Jays' fill-in closer Monday afternoon at Fenway Park and was able to record his first save of the season despite a shaky ninth inning. Osuna said he expects to be available Tuesday.

In his 2015 rookie campaign, Osuna notched 20 saves with a 2.81 SIERA and 27.7 strikeout percentage. He currently has a 1.70 xFIP, no walks, a 36.4 strikeout percentage and four saves in six innings pitched this season. We project the 21-year-old to record a 2.93 ERA and 28.1 strikeout percentage in 68 innings pitched in 2016.
