Josh Lowe at DH, seven-hole for Rays opener Friday
Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Josh Lowe is starting at designated hitter and batting seventh in Friday's season opener against left-hander John Means and the Baltimore Orioles.
Lowe is a left-handed hitter, but the Rays still want him in the lineup against the Orioles' southpaw. Randy Arozarena, Kevin Kiermaier, and Manuel Margot are covering the outfield on Friday. Here is Tampa Bay's full season-opening lineup: Yandy Diaz 3B, Wander Franco SS, Harold Ramirez 1B, Arozarena LF, Brandon Lowe 2B, Mike Zunino C, Lowe DH, Margot RF, Kiermaier CF. Shane McClanahan is starting on the mound for the Rays.
numberFire's models project Lowe for 8.0 FanDuel points on Friday, and he has a $2,600 salary. Per our MLB Heat Map, the total in the Rays-Orioles game is tied for lowest in the majors on Friday.
