Rockies place Charlie Blackmon (toe) on disabled list
The Colorado Rockies placed outfielder Charlie Blackmon on the 15-day disabled list with turf toe.
Blackmon has battled turf toe in the past and experienced a recurrence after an awkward dive into second base on Wednesday night. He could be out until early May. Gerardo Parra will serve as the Rockies' starting center fielder in the meantime, with Ben Paulsen getting the majority of starts in left.
Blackmon slashed .287/.347/.450 with a .345 wOBA, 17 home runs, and 43 stolen bases in 157 games played last season. He's off to a 5-for-27 (.185) start this year, and we currently project him to post a .324 wOBA with 13 home runs and 32 steals in 2016.
