Jonathan Villar (ankle) out again Thursday as Brewers battle St. Louis
Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Jonathan Villar (ankle) is out again Thursday.
Villar tweaked his ankle on a stolen base attempt earlier this week. He remains day-to-day. Yadiel Rivera is starting at shortstop Thursday afternoon against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Villar had just 128 plate appearances in 2015 and posted a solid line of .284/.339/.414 with two home runs and seven stolen bases. His .328 wOBA would have been the fourth best among shortstops if he had enough plate appearances to qualify. Our models project Villar to record 16 stolen bases and 45 runs scored on the year while posting a .319 wOBA.
