Nori Aoki out for Mariners on Wednesday due to sore shin

Seattle Mariners outfielder Norichika Aoki is out Wednesday against the Texas Rangers because of some mild soreness in his shin.

What It Means:

It was previously reported Aoki was just receiving a day of rest, but he fouled a ball off the shin on Tuesday. It's just a bruise, and he should be fine to start Friday against the Oakland Athletics after Thursday's scheduled team off day. Luis Sardinas is starting in left field on Wednesday afternoon versus Texas' righty Colby Lewis. Leonys Martin is serving as the Mariners' leadoff man.

We project Aoki to post a .278/.339/.374 slash line with a .316 wOBA and 17 stolen bases this season. He had 1.5 Wins Above Replacement in 2015.
