Cardinals' Marco Gonzales to visit specialist for elbow
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Marco Gonzales will visit Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles concerning a left elbow injury.
Gonzales has already seen the Cardinals' team doctor, but the club is holding off on announcing a diagnosis until the visit to ElAttrache. It doesn't sound good.
Gonzales, the 19th overall pick in 2013, battled shoulder troubles for much of the 2015 season and made only one appearance at the major league level. He had a 4.15 ERA in 34 2/3 innings with the Cardinals in 2014 and also pitched in the playoffs that year.
