The Milwaukee Brewers have acquired left-handed pitcher Sam Freeman from the Texas Rangers for cash considerations.
Freeman was designated for assignment by Texas at the end of spring training. The athletic left-hander has serious control issues, but he holds a 3.23 career ERA and 101 strikeouts over 108 2/3 major league innings. He's worth a shot for the rebuilding Brew Crew.
Our models project Freeman to face 163 batters while posting a 3.68 ERA with a 19.6 percent strikeout rate.
