Jose Abreu (illness) at DH for White Sox in ALDS Game 1
Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu (illness) is starting at designated hitter in Game 1 of the ALDS on Thursday against right-hander Lance McCullers and the Houston Astros.
Abreu has been dealing with a non-COVID-19 illness and was uncertain to play. He will bat third as the White Sox's DH on Thursday while Gavin Sheets plays first base. Leury Garcia is on second base over an idle Cesar Hernandez.
numberFire's models project Abreu for 10.5 FanDuel points in Game 1 and he has a $3,700 salary on Thursday's slate. He slashed .261/.351/.481 with 30 homers and 117 RBI over 152 games (659 plate appearances) in the regular season. McCullers registered a 27.0 strikeout percentage and an 11.1 walk percentage during the regular season.
