Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Michael Perez is starting Friday in the team's game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Perez is getting the nod behind the plate while batting sixth in the order against Reds starter Luis Castillo.
In 223 plate appearances this season, Perez has a .138 batting average with a .501 OPS, 7 home runs, 18 runs and 21 RBI.
