Charlie Blackmon on Rockies' bench Thursday
Colorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Max Scherzer and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Rockies appear to be giving Blackmon a routine breather. Sam Hilliard is covering right field while Garrett Hampson returns to the lineup to play center field and hit seventh. Ryan McMahon is hitting third and Raimel Tapia is in the leadoff spot again.
numberFire’s models project Hilliard for 10.5 FanDuel points and he has a $2,600 salary on Thursday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Rockies have an implied total of 4.0 runs. Scherzer is registering a 35.1 strikeout percentage and a 5.4 walk percentage this season, with a 2.79 xERA and a .257 xwOBA, and they all rank in the top 10% of the league among qualified pitchers.
