Nationals' Keibert Ruiz resting Wednesday
Washington Nationals catcher Keibert Ruiz is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against right-hander Elieser Hernandez and the Miami Marlins.
Ruiz appears to be receiving a routine rest day after starting four of the last five for Washington. Alex Avila is replacing Ruiz behind the plate and hitting seventh.
numberFire’s models project Avila for 7.3 FanDuel points and he has a $2,000 salary on Wednesday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Nationals have an implied total of 3.8 runs. Hernandez is registering a 21.7 strikeout percentage and a 6.5 walk percentage this season, with a 4.19 xERA and a .312 xwOBA.
