Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Michael Perez is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against right-hander Luis Castillo and the Cincinnati Reds.
Taylor Davis is starting at catcher over Perez and hitting eighth. Fellow backstop Jacob Stallings (concussion) recently resumed baseball activities and is progressing toward a return.
numberFire’s models project Davis for 12.4 FanDuel points and he has a $2,500 salary on Wednesday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Pirates have an implied total of 3.5 runs. Castillo is registering a 24.0 strikeout percentage and a 9.2 walk percentage this season, with a 3.58 xERA and a .290 xwOBA.
