Athletics' Seth Brown sitting Thursday afternoon
Oakland Athletics second baseman/designated hitter Jed Lowrie is not in the starting lineup for Thursday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Daniel Lynch and the Kansas City Royals.
Brown was back in the lineup the past two games for the first time since being activated from the injured list. Chad Pinder is starting in right field over Brown and batting sixth Thursday afternoon.
