Anthony Rizzo resting for Yankees' Monday matinee
New York Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo is not in the starting lineup for Monday afternoon's game against right-hander John Gant and the Minnesota Twins.
Rizzo went 0-for-2 in Sunday's series finale against the New York Mets, but he drew three walks and scored a run. Luke Voit is replacing Rizzo on first base and batting sixth Monday afternoon.
numberFire’s models project Voit for 9.3 FanDuel points and he has a $6,500 salary on Monday afternoon's one-game slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Yankees have an implied total of 5.7 runs. Gant is registering a 19.5 strikeout percentage and a 14.6 walk percentage (bottom 3% of the league) this season, with a 5.12 xERA and a .341 xwOBA.
