Jonathan Villar joining Mets' bench Thursday
New York Mets infielder Jonathan Villar is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against left-hander Jesus Luzardo and the Miami Marlins.
The Mets appear to be giving Villar a breather. Francisco Lindor is covering the leadoff spot while J.D. Davis enters the lineup to play third base and bat cleanup.
numberFire’s models project Lindor for 10.1 FanDuel points and he has a $3,500 salary on Thursday’s slate. Per our MLB Heat Map, the Mets have an implied total of 4.3 runs. Luzardo is registering a 21.3 strikeout percentage and a 10.8 walk percentage this season, with a 5.53 xERA and a .353 xwOBA.
